Granny Flats have made a comeback in suburbia!

THE NSW GOVERNMENT IS SUPPORTING AFFORDABLE RENTAL HOUSING-GRANNY FLATS (SECONDARY DWELLINGS) IN ALL RESIDENTIAL ZONES.

What are some of the requirements:

  • Land must be at least 450 square metres

  • Granny flats can be up to 60 square metres maximum or the maximum floor area prescribed by the council in the local environmental plan.

What do I need to get started:

  • You will need a 149 Certificate from your Council in the first instance.

  • Give Building Works Australia a call to discuss your requirements.
